Product name:
MERS-CoV N-protein (Antigen)
Product description:
Recombinant MERS-CoV N-protein (Nucleoprotein, His-Tag) from produced in Nicotiana benthamiana by Agrobacterium-mediated transient expression.
Description
Expression host species: Nicotiana benthamiana
Host strain: England-Qatar/2012 (UniProtKB -PK9N4V7 (NCAP_MERS1)1
Molecular weight: 45.7 kDa
Tag: C-terminal 6His
Uses: For research use only. Examples include SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, functional assays.
Relevance: The MERS-CoV viral nucleocapsid protein serves multiple critical functions during the viral life cycle. This 46 kDa protein, composed of 413 amino acids2. It binds and packages the positive strand viral genome RNA into a helical ribonucleocapsid (RNP) structure and has a core role in virion assembly through its interactions with the membrane protein (M) and the viral genome. The protein is composed of an N-terminal RNA binding domain and a C-terminal multimerization domain3.
Specification
Purity: 80 % as shown by SDS-PAGE (Figure 1).
Figure 1: reducing 4-20% SDS-PAGE analysis of 5 µg MERS-CoV N-protein.
Protein runs as a monomer. Lower band (approx. 20 kDa) is a truncated form containing C-terminal oligomerization domain.
Biological activity: N/A
Endotoxin: Not tested.
Concentration: 0.85 mg/ml prior to lyophilization (analyzed by A280 measurement)
Aliquot size: 1 x 100 µg per tube
Storage
Formulation: Lyophilized from 20 mM HEPES, 300 mM NaCl, pH 7.5, 175 mM Trehalose Dihydrate.
Shipping: Recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature.
Stability & Storage: See COA for detailed storage instructions. Lyophilized materials are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -70℃.
It is recommended that reconstituted protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution: A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instructions is included with the product.
